The Lonliest Place After Christmas

The hustle and bustle of finding that perfect Christmas tree has given way to a kind of calm. "I'm back the way it normally is."
For just about a month every year, the peace and quiet of Steve Mannard's Christmas tree farm is interrupted. The day after Christmas, according to Mannard, "it's always a lonely day out here and it's quiet and peaceful it's nice in some ways."
There is the occasional customer throughout the year. But most days it's just Steve and the trees.
Eleven months of the year, tree farmers work right by themselves. Then for a little while it's like they're the most popular place on the planet. So when it all goes away, it takes some getting used to."
"I miss the kids running all over the farm. I'm used to working out here by myself," says Mannard.
That's just the way he likes it until next year.
