Plenty of people around Mobile went to shopping malls and other stores this Christmas Eve.
Bel-Air Mall was crowded, but not chaotic, during the afternoon.
Many, but not all, were doing last minute shopping.
LeAndrick Goodwin of Mobile said she just began shopping Wednesday.
Goodwin said, "I worked the entire month of December, so this is my first (time shopping) and I'm getting married on Saturday."
Nancy Wheeler of Mobile said, "I'm doing last minute shopping and I'm looking for a special t-shirt for a very special friend of mine."
When asked why she waited until the last minute to go shopping, Tonja Lewis of Mobile said, "I don't know. Everybody does."
When asked if she was buying some last minute gifts, Janet Rose of Mobile said, "Just a few, just kind of a stocking stuffer. I'm really babysitting so mom and dad can put together Christmas."
Not everyone was carrying packages.
Jay Cox was carrying his daughter Lindsey on his shoulders and holding hands with her twin sister, Lucy, and walking with another daughter, Riley.
When asked if Lindsey was getting heavy, Cox said, "Well, she's the third one, so she's about heavy now."
If you still want to do some shopping on Christmas Day, some stores, like Walgreens, will be open on the holiday.
