The City of Mobile unveiled it's 9-thousand dollar electronic MoonPie Monday. City Councilman Fred Richardson paid for the MoonPie with taxpayer money from his discretionary fund. It will be a part of the City's annual New Year's Eve celebration. While some have said that money could have been put to better use, Richardson says the electronic MoonPie could make the city a lot of money in the long run, "we will probably make much more, far more than 9-thousand dollars on New Year's Eve night but I can foresee this becoming a national venue where people will come from all over this Nation in droves at least by next year and it will fill up our hotels. I can see millions, and millions of dollars coming out of this," said Richardson. Chattanooga Bakery will also be a part of the city's New Year's Eve celebration. The City says the bakery is bringing the World's largest MoonPie, that is 55 pounds and almost 4 feet in diameter, for people to eat.
