MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The Internal Revenue Service and the FBI
are warning people to look out for fake e-mails that claim to be
from the federal agencies.
The two agencies say the fake e-mails are a scam trying to get
personal financial information. Some of the fake e-mails claim to
be from the FBI's Anti-Terrorist and Monetary Crimes Division. The
fake IRS e-mails try to get people to fill out a financial form.
IRS spokesman Dan Boone said Thursday the IRS never sends
e-mails to people about their taxes.
