Hunter Shot In The Chest

The Baldwin County Sheriff Office has arrested Robert Pickle on assault charges.

On Friday, Dec 5th approx. 10:50 am, the arrestee Robert Glen Pickle, suspected that subjects in a red Nissan Pick up truck were illegally hunting on private property, off Scottish Lane. Pickle pursued the vehicle, passed it, and slammed on brakes, causing the vehicle to come to a stop. He exited his vehicle with a 44 mag revolver. A heated confrontation ensued between Pickle and a passenger in the pick up truck, Randy Vinson. Pickle shot Vinson with rat shot that had been loaded in the revolver. Vinson was transported to USA hospital where his injuries were found to not be life-threatening.

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office says a hunter was shot in what appears to be a land dispute between neighbors.

The shooting around 11:00 a.m. on Highway 31 and Scottish Lane in Bay Minette.

According to deputies, the hunter was tracking a deer on another man's property when he was shot. He was transported to USA Medical Center but is expected to survive.

So far one has been arrested, but the Sherif's Office is questioning the man who pulled the trigger.
