At approximately 2:53 a.m. on August 23, 2008, Prichard Police responded to a call in the area of South Hobbs Ave. When officers arrived they discovered a black male dead on arrival, outside of a residence, shot multiple times. Prichard Police is asking the public’s help in locating a black male suspect identified as Darryl Smith AKA Chub, average height, average weight, with a gold front tooth. Police Administrator Marvin Whitfield stated that this homicide is a result of an on going dispute; Smith lives in the Mobile area, but has family in the Prichard vicinity. Be advised that Darryl Smith AKA Chub is to be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with any information is asked to call Detective V. Myles at 251-331-2327.
