Gliding along the Mobile Tensaw Delta is one of the fringe benefits of having your own eco-tour business.
“There's over 250 k acres of wilderness that are out there it's second only to the Mississippi delta and that gets a lot of play,” says Co-Owner of Five Rivers Delta Safaris Kristian Aboud. His business recently got a nod in National Geographic Adventure Magazine. The article named Mobile as one of the 50 next great adventure towns.
“We've already been getting a lot of calls it's been a very positive experience a lot of people have read the article, a lot of promotion in mobile,” says Aboud. Australian Kristian Aboud says the Delta is an untapped resource that more people need to experience. He says it’s this eco landscape that lured him here.
The hovercraft is one of their newest touring options. The small speedster flies over land and water on a cushion of air. This boat can only carry about 1200 pounds with 3 people on board and they need very calm waters to search some of the Delta's lesser known sights.
“Get in to some of the harder to reach places and that's when you really realize how magnificent it is,” says Co-owner Michael Dorie. For more information you can click on the link on this page or call 1-877-411-Safari.
