Weathering The Storm

Some people living along the Gulf Coast are not taking any chances when it comes to Tropical Storm Fay and some have already begun preparing.

Anne Allenbach and her husband have spent more than a decade watching tropical storms pass through Dauphin Island, so they know when to be on guard.
"When you see it's getting into the Gulf, that's when you come in and start getting prepared. As long as it's not in the Gulf we don't worry about it too much,"Said Allenbach.
But as they board up their windows, they brace themselves to ride out whatever may cross their path. While neighbors across the street, do the same. "We love the water.. he loves to fish..so we'll be here,"Said Allenbach while locking the shutters on her windows.
Allenbach says they have had their share of one of the scariest storms. "Katrina was the only one we feared, we had a home in Mobile and it took our home in Mobile. so it was more devastating in Mobile than it was down here,"Said Allenbach. The Allenbachs say as much as they love their Dauphin Island home, they may consider putting it up for sale, when the housing market bounces back. They say while the house has dodged storm damage over the years it's just too costly for them to maintain.
