Cage Fighter Pleads Guilty To Starting Brawl

Three people were stabbed in the brawl outside an Auburn University fraternity house. The Irvington man who started it was sentenced to 5 years in prison.

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A Mobile County man accused of inciting a
brawl in front of an Auburn University fraternity house has pleaded
guilty to aggravated assault and bribery.
Joey Barrett Jr. was sentenced in Lee County Circuit Court to 15
years in prison for the assault but will serve 18 months, with the
rest of the sentence to be served on probation.
For the bribery plea, the 25-year-old cage fighter from
Irvington was sentenced to five years, but will serve a year in
prison with the rest of the sentence being served on probation.
He was also ordered to pay $11,579 in restitution.
The fight broke out in front of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity
house on the eve of the 2005 Alabama-Auburn football game. Three
fraternity members were stabbed.
