ARDMORE, Ala. (AP) - Police say a north Alabama high school
student wrote out plans for a mass killing and tried to get others
to provide weapons for the plot, which included burning a teacher
alive.
Police in Ardmore acted on a tip to foil the plan. They met
Monday with school officials to determine what to do next.
Authorities say a 16-year-old boy who attended Ardmore High
School wrote notes and drew pictures about a mass killing. He
allegedly compiled a list of students and teachers to kill.
The mother of another student alerted police after the youth
allegedly tried to obtain weapons from her child.
Ardmore police arrested the 16-year-old on Friday, seizing five
swords and a computer at his home. He was placed in juvenile
detention.
