News 5 has confirmed striking Coca-Cola workers will return to work Monday. Friday afternoon, workers approved a company pension savings plan. Under the approved plan, employee contributions will be $50 less per week than originally proposed. In the initial offer which prompted the two-week strike, employees would have contributed $69 dollars each week. Coca-Cola will match employee contributions up to $20 dollars.
Some employees tell News 5 that while the approved agreement is a "little better", there is still a lot of disappointment for those workers who are at or near retirement age. The 270 striking workers return to work Monday. News 5's Diana Lucio will have a full report, including employee reaction, tonight on News 5 at 10.
