Mobile Police were called to Cranford Burns Middle School this morning at 10:30. Police say a 15-year-old boy had several Xanax pills and was under the influence of the medication. The student was arrested. Police determined the boy got the pills from another classmate. A second student was placed in custody and charged with distribution of a controlled substance. Because the first student was under the influence of drugs, police say he will be arrested at a later date. Xanax is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and depression. It can have varying side effects including depressed mood, thoughts of suicide hyperactivity, hostility, hallucinations, fainting, seizures, muscle twitching, and jaundice
