ANNISTON, Ala. (AP) - Investigators say an Anniston woman was
trying to save her dog when she was struck and killed by a
hit-and-run driver.
Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown says 48-year-old Bridgett Craft
was fatally injured Friday night when she tried to reach her dog,
which had just been hit by an unknown vehicle.
The incident occurred on Eulaton Road two miles west of
Anniston.
Authorities are searching for a maroon Z-71 Chevrolet truck with
dual exhaust pipes. The truck, reported by a witness to the
hit-and-run, also was described as a step-side truck.
State troopers are investigating the case.
