The Alabama Marine Resources tells News 5 that a pilot whale is beached about 1/8 of a mile off Alabama / Florida line.
The Alabama Marine Resources says three other pilot whales are trying to help the other get free.
The agency does not have the equipment of resources to handle the situation, so calls were made to National Marine Fishering Services in Miami. The group has a local contractor that has been called out to try and help the whale.

Adult males can reach up to 20 feet (6.1 m) and weigh up to 3 tons. Adult females measure up to 16 feet (4.9 m) and weigh up to 1.5 tons.[1] Life span is about 45 years in males and 60 years in females for both species.
Pilot whales live in groups of about 10 to 30 in number on average but some groups may be 100 or more. They are quite active and will frequently lobtail, spyhop and approach boats.
