RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The FBI says a Marine wanted in the killing
of a pregnant colleague who had accused him of rape has been
arrested in Mexico.
The FBI's office in Charlotte says special agents and Mexican
authorities arrested Marine Corporal Cesar Laurean. He's charged
with murder in the death of Marine Lance Corporal Maria Lauterbach.
The bodies of Lauterbach and her fetus were found buried in January
in Laurean's yard near Camp Lejuene, North Carolina.
The FBI hasn't said when or where in Mexico Laurean was
arrested. He's awaiting extradition to the U.S. A North Carolina
prosecutor says "it could be year or two" before Laurean is
brought back to the U.S. if he decides to fight extradition.
