A man running for innocent children is getting a little closer to his goal.
Tom Bassano is running across the country trying to raise awareness and support for child advocacy centers.
News 5 caught up with him Wednesday in Ocean Springs, Mississippi.
Thursday night, he was in Foley getting some rest for his run into Florida.
On March 2, Bassano set out on his trip from San Diego.
He says the murder of Jessica Lunsford in 2005 by a sexual predator made him mad. He decided to take action.
His goal is to reach Daytona Beach, Florida in less than 90 days.
Bassano will start running Friday morning and hopes to be in Pensacola Thursday night.
