BILOXI, Miss. (AP) - One-time boxing champion Hector Luis
"Macho" Camacho Senior has been re-sentenced to time served for a
break-in at a Gulfport computer shop.
Harrison County Circuit Judge Steve Simpson yesterday (Monday)
also placed Camacho on a year of hour arrest and three years'
probation.
Simpson gave Camacho credit for about five months spent behind
bars while waiting on resolution of charges, including a pending
drug-possession case.
The judge also set trial for November 5th on the drug charge,
filed by Biloxi police.
Officers who arrested him on the burglary charge from December
2004 allegedly found 10 Ecstasy pills in a casino hotel room he was
visiting. Camacho claims the pills weren't his.
The 45-year-old Camacho remained in custody at the Harrison
County jail. His attorney, David Morrison, said he wasn't sure if
Camacho would post $75,000 bail on the drug charge or wait for
resolution in court.
Camacho pleaded guilty to the burglary in May. He claimed he had
been drinking tequila and crawled across the ceiling of shared
office space to retrieve his laptop from ZDI Computer Center.
Prosecutors say Camacho was accused of stealing seven laptops
and about $5,600, but has "generously compensated" the business.
