A high school cheerleader in Washington State proved she's no push-over.
She was steamrolled by the football team but got right back on her feet.
It happened right before the second half of the big game between Auburn High and Riverside last Friday in Auburn, Washington. With her team about to take the field, 18-year-old cheerleader Cali Kaltschmidt gave new meaning to the phrase "taking one for the team."
"Well, they put the sign up, and it kind of was like at an angle, it wasn't really ready for the boys to run up yet," Cali said.
About 50 Auburn players thought otherwise. "Barely got there and then smack. I got run into by Zach."
All 6'00" 245 pounds of Zach who had no idea he'd trampled Cali. "I thought I just tripped and fell," Zach said.
For Cali, it was a brusing couple of days. "I got in a car accident Thursday, the day before the game, that
morning, and I got a bruise on my neck from the seat belt."
Still, there was no injury time out for Cali. In true cheerleader spirit, she brushed the whole thing off.
"I'm good, i'm fine."
Cali insists she'll be back on the field for this weekend's game.
