Mississippi Republican Roger Wicker was sworn in today after Governor Haley Barbour selected him as retiring Senator Trent Lott's successor. Wicker will serve on the Senate until November 4th when a special election will be held to decide who will finish out Lott's term ending in 2012. Wicker is expected to run in the special election.
