Prichard Police are on the lookout for a drive-by shooter. Police Chief Lawrence Battiste says around 3:20 Saturday afternoon, Twenty year-old Demerio King was shot in the neck. King was at his Grandfather's home located at 135 North Joseph Ave. According to Battiste, three men drove by the house in what investigators believe was a gray Ford Taurus. One of the men shot at someone sitting on the porch but, missed hitting King who was playing a video game inside the home. King was taken to USA Medical Center where he was treated and released. No one else was hurt in the shooting. In August a man was found shot to death lying on the front porch of the home. No arrests have been made in that case.
Chief Battiste also says in the past year and-a-half Prichard Police have arrested 16 people and served 3 search warrants resulting in narcotic discoveries, all at this one home.
