PITTSBURGH (AP) - A winter storm blanketing much of the nation
is grounding more than 200 flights.
All other flights at Chicago's O'Hare Airport are being delayed
an hour because of the snow.
The Plains and Midwest have a fresh coat of snow measuring a
foot deep in some parts. And winter storm warnings and watches
stretch from Missouri to Maine. Tens of thousands of people are
still without power because of an ice storm earlier this week.
Kansas has as much as a foot of snow to deal with and the
Highway Patrol reports one interstate is snowpacked.
Residents across New England are hitting the stores to stock up
before they get slammed. The winter weather earlier in the week
caught many there off guard, snarling traffic.
Snow started falling early in the afternoon in Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania, accumulating to about an inch before tapering off.
Light rain and freezing rain took over later.
