NY lawmakers rally at ground zero against halting 9/11 funding

NEW YORK (AP) - There's anger in New York over the federal
government's plan to stop health monitoring for ground zero workers
across the country.
The Department of Health and Human Services filed paperwork this
week canceling plans to medically screen those who got sick after
digging through the toxic rubble of the World Trade Center. The
government says Congress has not provided it with enough money to
fund the program.
Congressman Jerrold Nadler says, in his words, "That takes a
lot of chutzpah."
New York's congressional delegation and ailing workers stood
outside the World Trade Center site today to protest the decision
not to fund screening of workers outside New York City.
