Investigators believe a multi-state kidnapping case came to an end Tuesday night at a Baldwin County truck stop.
Loxley Police and Baldwin County Sheriff's Deputies arrested a truck driver from Missouri at Love's Travel Stop in Loxley.
They've identified him as 47 year old Roy Scott Stillwell of Hartville, Missouri.
Deputies are not releasing the identity of the victim, only that she's 29 years old.
The investigation started when Loxley Police got a call about a fight outside the truck stop.
Major Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office said, "They sent officers up here. Upon arrival, they found a female bound and beaten. She described a suspect that was possibly inside the store. They were able to detain him."
Candy McMurey says she saw the suspect and the victim.
McMurey said, "He took her inside, purchased a couple of things, he comes back outside and next thing you know, here he comes running back inside, just about knocks you over. Then, they (authorities) take and caught him right there in the aisle, tell him not to move or anything."
Rodney Mifflin says the victim was helped by two drivers in a truck nearby.
Mifflin said, "Female drivers in the white PTL truck, they got her out of the SMX truck, put her in their truck and called the police."
Into the evening, Loxley's police chief and investigators from the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office searched the truck looking for any possible evidence.
Lowery added, "Its a truck driver. He has access throughout the country and we'll have to look hard at the possibility that there are more victims somewhere."
Stillwell has been charged with first degree kidnapping, but deputies say more charges could be added Wednesday.
