Norman's body too decomposed to determine cause of death
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Hinds County coroner was unable to
determine the cause of death of a 20-year-old Jackson State
University student slain more than two weeks ago and has called in
a forensic anthropologist for help.
Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart said Latasha Norman's body was
too decomposed for a standard autopsy to determine cause of death.
Grisham-Stewart said in an article at www.clarionledger.com that
it appeared that Norman had been dead for about two weeks when her
body was discovered and that there were signs of trauma.
But she has sent Norman's remains to the University of Southern
Mississippi for further study.
Norman's ex-boyfriend, Stanley Cole, has been charged with the
20-year-old's murder. Her body was found Nov. 29 in a wooded area
in north Jackson.
