NEW YORK (AP) - That wasn't just oregano in the meatballs. Former NYPD detective Anthony Chiofalo is suing to get his job and gold shield back. He was fired from the New York Police Department after a random drug test found pot in his system. His wife, Catherine Chiofalo, admitted putting the weed in her meatball recipe. She testified at a hearing that she hoped a failed drug test would force her husband to retire.
Chiofalo had been assigned to the Joint Terrorism Task Force. He's asking the court to declare his firing unreasonable and unconstitutional
