Satsuma Police found an elderly couple dead in the garage of their home. The Satsuma Police Chief tells News 5, it appears the husband shot and killed his wife before killing himself. Police believe it was a mercy killing. It happened Monday afternoon on Park Street. The police chief says it appears Bill Adams shot his wife, Louise, because she had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and her health had gotten worse. The chief says Adams then turned the gun on himself. We talked with a neighbor who says the Adams were good people," I find it hard to believe. But, they were very close. And, I, I, don't think he would have wanted to live without her and I know she didn't want to be without him," said neighbor, Diane Surrett. The Satsuma Police Chief says they were notified by a neighbor who went to check on the Adams and found a note on the door saying to call police. According to the chief, Bill Adams also left a letter for police giving them instructions on how to reach the couple's son. The chief says the son was also left a letter.
