Many BellSouth customers here in the southeast had problems logging on Monday evening. Some customers in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee were without internet service for about four hours while AT&T technicians repaired what they are calling an equipment impairment. The outage began at approximately 5:50pm EST and was restored as of 10:15pm EST Monday night. Dawn Benton an AT&T representative tell News 5 the disruption was determined to be an isolated router failure. AT&T advises that customers may need to power off their modems and PC, then power back on to gain access to the restored service.
