This is an update to a story posted earlier.
One person died and another was hurt in a three-vehicle accident this afternoon on Highway 98, between Ward Road and Charlie Lane, in Wilmer.
State Troopers say 54-year-old Joey Deal of Lucedale was killed when his 1999 Ford F-150 collided with a 2004 Dodge pick up truck. The driver of the Dodge, 42 year-old Sherrie Bohannon of Eight Mile, was taken to the hopsital for non-life threatening injuries.
Deal's truck then hit a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 47 year-old Earnest Campbell, of Sweetwater, Tennesse. Deal was pronouned dead on the scene.
The accident caused mile long traffic back-ups in both directions for nearly three hours.
