Temperatures fell below freezing early Sunday morning, and after another cold start Monday morning, a big warm-up is ahead for the Gulf Coast. A southerly wind flow will take over behind the weekend’s arctic high pressure dome, and that means we should hit 60 on Monday afternoon, and hit 70 by Tuesday.
Increasing clouds are expected Monday. These clouds herald the approach of our next rainmaker, which will bring some scattered showers our way for Tuesday. Wednesday looks drier.
Another system will approach for Thursday. Highs are expected to stay on the warm side most of the week (despite the rainfall) with afternoon readings in the 70s. Morning lows climb into the milder and muggier 50s. That’s certainly a big improvement over the freezing temperatures we just had!
Yet another rainmaker will approach for the weekend – and this one will be carrying some cool air behind it. Computer modeling has pushed the best chance of rain with this system back to Sunday.

The unofficial “start to summer” continues to be a hot one this Memorial Day weekend. Bright sunshine will warm temperatures into the low and middle 90s during the afternoon. There’s only a 10% chance of a passing shower or thunderstorm, so 9 out of 10 of us stay dry.
