Our late night has winds shifting and colder air making an entrance. Lows will be as they were last night ranging from the upper 30s inland to the lower 40s near the coast. Clouds exit and then the cold change begins. Get ready.
Tomorrow the winds will have fully shifted and they'll remain brisk. Dry air will continue to enter the area but the steady north wind means highs tomorrow will stick in the lower 50s. Inland counties will stay in the upper 40s. Everyone will have a bit of a wind chill so when you step outside it will be very noticeable. At least you'll enjoy a bright sky so find a sunny spot if you are heading to parades. We were spoiled by the warm January. How soon we forget how cold February can be!
Saturday night you'll really remember that we are in the middle of winter. Everyone goes below freezing, with inland counties maybe seeing a hard freeze. Lows Saturday night will fall into the middle 20s along the I-10 corridor. Inland counties will end up in the lower 20s. If the winds die down some communities may get a few degrees colder than that. Take extra care of the sensitive and tender plants. If in doubt, do what you can to protect your investment. If you live in a home with exposed plumbing then prepare to protect the pipes too, mainly in inland counties. This weekend delivers our coldest weather in a month, especially at night.
I'm trying to be optimistic on the temperatures but they may actually be colder than I'm forecasting.
Sunday presents a sunny sky with a lighter north wind. Highs will again only reach the lower 50s. After a Monday morning start just below freezing, we'll get back to milder temperatures approaching 60. Clouds will once again return. Between Monday and Tuesday look for another quick batch of showers to pass through. Highs on Tuesday will return to the upper 60s.

The unofficial “start to summer” continues to be a hot one this Memorial Day weekend. Bright sunshine will warm temperatures into the low and middle 90s during the afternoon. There’s only a 10% chance of a passing shower or thunderstorm, so 9 out of 10 of us stay dry.
