For the third day, Tiger Woods has declined to talk to Florida state troopers about the events surrounding his Friday morning crash. He did post a statement on
his Web site saying he was the only one responsible and that the incident was embarrassing to him and his family.
Meanwhile, police have released a tape of a 911 call by a neighbor reporting "someone down" in front of his house.
He says the situation was his fault and vows it won't happen again, adding: "I'm human and I'm not perfect." He says his wife "acted courageously" when she saw he was hurt and "any other assertion is absolutely false."
Woods' silence has stoked rumors of marital problems, that also have been fed by tabloid reports alleging the golfer was having an affair with a New York night club hostess.
Woods' says he understands the curiosity, but calls the rumors "false, unfounded and malicious." The woman named in the reports has denied the accusations.
Woods is scheduled to host a tournament this week in California to benefit his foundation, but there's no word whether he'll show now.
