NEW YORK (AP) - It's gotten to the point for some of us that we'd be lost without our GPS units in our cars or on our phones.
But just imagine how lost we'd be if we had them but they were no longer accurate. That's what a new government report is hinting may
happen down the road a bit.
The Government Accountability Office says the accuracy of GPS signals could decline in the next few years because of delays in satellite launches. The report suggests that the current wear and tear on the GPS birds overhead may be compromised if upgraded satellites aren't launched into orbit. But
the Air Force says it has plenty of ways to maintain the current navigation system even if the new batch of satellites doesn't get airborne soon.
