Buyer beware, that's the warning from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency.
Around 200 Katrina cottages will go up for auction next month. The problem is, MEMA says they have mold and could cause health problems.
MEMA says the cottages were damaged by storm surge during Hurricane Gustav.

The agency transferred title on the cottages to Henderson Auctions last week. The company plans to auction them in Louisiana next month. While MEMA admits the auction isn't illegal, they tell us all 232 cottages were stamped as salvage.
"We wanted to make sure that the public was aware of the potential health hazards. If someone does choose to buy these units they need to be sure that they have them checked out to make sure mold is not a problem,"Said Mike Womack, Director for MEMA.

MEMA officials tell News Five, people who purchase mold infested cottages as their permanent residence may have trouble getting a permit.
