Universal Orlando is the latest theme park to trim attractions to save money

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Universal Orlando is cutting back some
attractions in its two-park Florida resort to save money.
Universal spokesman Tom Schroder says the "Fear Factor"
attraction in Universal Studios will close Thursday "for business
reasons." It is scheduled to reopen in the spring.
Schroder says the hours for a "limited number" of other shows
and attractions at both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure
will be reduced beginning this weekend. The reductions will be
determined by attendance.
Schroder says the resort made the changes "in response to
season demand and forecast demand for 2009."
Other theme parks have made similar cutbacks. Walt Disney World
reduced showings of its Fantasmic! laser-and-fireworks show at its
Hollywood Studios. SeaWorld Orlando temporarily closed its
hospitality center and stopped dispensing free beer for guests.
